A few words about The Village...
The small village of Saint Dimitrios, of approximately 100 villagers, is located near the beach and is only 2Km from Lixouri, the city hall of Paliki. Its name was given by the villagers after the big earthquake in 1953. Its first name was Kouvalata and its first location was at the mountains.

Entering the village, you meet the small church of Saint Dimitrios. On the right of the church, there is the “Lofos” which was named after the one of the most important Man of Letters in Greece, Andreas Laskaratos.

Outside the village (400m), there is “Moni Kechriona” which has an historical importance. Every year, on 23rd of August, most of the villagers of Kefalonia are gathered to celebrate the Assumption.
It is said that the monastery was built at the beginning of the 17th century, and it was the first church of the village Vlachovouni (the village does not exist anymore).

Following the earthquake in 1953, the Monastery was seriously damaged externally, but the inside, having the Throne and the miraculous picture of Saint Mary was untouched.

The small village of Saint Dimitrios, where Villa Reverenza is located, is the passage towards all directions (2km from it there is the central market of Lixouri and in less than 20 minutes, every tourist can go to any of the magical beaches of the island ( Petani, Xi, Makris Gialos, Myrtos, etc).
